About Bangkok Climate Action Week

Bangkok Climate Action Week (BKKCAW) is an annual city-based climate festival activating the power of people to drive transformative change. The inaugural edition will take place across iconic venues in Bangkok (including Bangkok Arts and Culture Center (BACC) and Lumpini Park) from 28 September to 4 October, 2025. BKKCAW invites citizens, creatives, communities, and institutions to come together in new ways — celebrating local leadership and collective imagination to shape a climate-safe, inclusive future for Southeast Asia.

Organized by the Just Transitions Incubator (JUTI) in collaboration with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), BKKCAW is more than an event — it’s an open invitation to reimagine climate action from the ground up. Inspired and supported by London Climate Action Week (LCAW), which has become the largest independent climate gathering in Europe, BKKCAW leverages public programs, performances, exhibitions, policy labs, and community-led experiments to foster whole-of-society engagement that is joyful, bold, and leads to lasting impact.

Vision

Bangkok Climate Action Week catalyzes whole-of-society action to accelerate the green transition, boosting public engagement in climate action policymaking in Southeast Asia.

Our Essence

Creating Space for People-Powered Climate Action

We create space for courageous climate action by connecting ideas, communities, and lived experiences. BKKCAW brings people and institutions together to build momentum from the ground up — sparking collaboration, shaping a new climate story and making climate action feel personal, possible, and shared. Our strength lies in turning creativity and care into collective impact that drives systemic change.

Why Bangkok?

With rising temperatures, flooding, air pollution, and resource stress affecting millions, Southeast Asia is already living the impacts of climate change. But it is also a city of immense creativity, cultural depth, and community resilience — a place where imagination and collaboration can drive real, lasting change.

Bangkok Climate Action Week taps into this potential — spotlighting Bangkok not only as a city on the climate frontline, but as a powerful driver of transformation across the region. From artists and activists to youth leaders, entrepreneurs, scientists, and city officials, Bangkok’s people are shaping new pathways toward a climate-safe future.
