"New Economy, New Climate" Distributed Power Generation and Battery Energy Storage: Building Southeast Asia's Flexible Power System
08/10/2026
13:00 - 16:00
About this event
Southeast Asia’s rapidly growing electricity demand calls for power systems that are faster, more flexible and closer to where energy is needed. As solar PV costs continue to fall, distributed generation and battery energy storage are emerging as critical solutions to accelerate deployment, reduce pressure on transmission infrastructure and improve the reliability and flexibility of power systems across the region. Organized by Tenggara Strategics together with the Indonesian Solar Energy Association (AESI) at Bangkok Climate Action Week 2026, this session will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, financiers and technology providers to explore what is needed to scale these solutions across ASEAN. Drawing on Indonesia’s experience, the discussion will highlight practical lessons and transferable approaches to create more predictable, investable and enabling frameworks for distributed renewable energy and storage.
