Bangmot Bio-Cruise

The SAFETist Bio-Cruise is a low-carbon eco-tourism initiative hosted at SAFETist Farm in collaboration with the Araya Bangmot Creative Community Enterprise. Driven by the vision of Inclusive Climate Action, the program utilizes clean zero-emission electric boats—supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Thailand—to eliminate noise and air pollution along the Bangmot Canal. Partnering with Scripps College and the 30x30 Thailand Coalition for academic expertise, the cruise invites participants to explore, observe, and document local biodiversity, including native bird and plant species, establishing a crucial ecological database for future conservation. Beyond environmental protection, the project leverages a Citizen Science approach to empower youth and attendees as Active Environmental Citizens who can act as local explorers, eco-communicators, and community change-makers. Managed directly by the local community enterprise, the initiative boosts the grassroots economy by generating sustainable income for neighborhood vendors. Ultimately, it serves as a practical sandbox model to demonstrate environmental impact, paving the way for public policy push toward nationwide electric boat adoption and formal protection of urban canal green spaces.

Smart Transfarmer

This hands-on workshop invites everyone to explore how technology, traditional farming knowledge, and creativity can come together to shape the future of food in a changing climate. Through a learning journey, participants move from the field to the digital world and back again: learning alongside experienced farmers, building an open-source FarmBot, coding automated planting and watering systems, experimenting with AI-powered plant identification, and finally harvesting and sharing what they have grown. Presented as a live, participatory experience at Bangkok Climate Action Week, the workshop inspires people how we can transform from technology end-users into makers and problem-solvers. By connecting digital skills with food, farming, and real-world climate challenges, it demonstrates how accessible technology can become a tool for climate action, community resilience, and a new generation of agricultural innovation.

Climate Fresk

EVENT WILL HOLD SIMULTANEOUSLY IN ENGLISH AND IN THAI (in 2 separate rooms at the same venue) 😀 You want to understand the key facts & elements about climate change and set yourself up for taking action? Then “Climate Fresk” is just what you need? A scientific, collaborative and creative workshop to learn about climate change in a fun way. Based on the IPCC report, translated into 50+ languages, the workshop explains the causes and consequences of climate change. It gives the opportunity to learn a lot in a short period of time and is designed for both beginners and experts. Already more than 2,400,000 participants in 160 countries and counting… 🌍 -- WHAT TO EXPECT -- You will work collaboratively with your team of 4 to 7 players. You will play with 42 cards and order them in cause-and-effect relationships. After building and personalising your Climate Fresk, it will be time to take a step back, to reflect on what you’ve learnt and then to start to think all together on how to act, individually and collectively. A trained facilitator will guide you and provide additional insights. A welcoming space for anyone curious about climate change to come, mingle, experience something new, exchange ideas, or simply listen. You don’t need a finished project, a presentation, or a big idea. Just offer your curiosity. Heritage Food Systems Lunch

A communal long-table lunch built around the heritage Thai ingredients at risk of disappearing from everyday life. Beginning with a guided walk through the garden and ReWaste space, guests move into a short hands-on activity with one heritage ingredient before sitting down together for a shared lunch featuring dishes built entirely around these flavours. The centrepiece is not the food alone but the conversation around it. A facilitated discussion invites guests to reflect on food memory, what we’ve stopped eating and why, and what is lost when a traditional ingredient disappears from our plates. The lunch closes with one question put to the whole table: “What’s one ingredient, dish, or piece of food knowledge you want to make sure isn’t forgotten?” An intimate gathering, designed to be the beginning of something longer. Every guest leaves as part of the Tepa Garden community, connected to an ongoing programme of heritage food workshops, and a growing network of people in Bangkok who believe that what we eat is inseparable from the health of our land, our culture, and our climate.

Advancing Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Integration in Thailand: Policy Perspectives and International Experience

Thailand’s power system is evolving as rooftop solar and electric vehicles begin to shape electricity flows more visibly across the grid. As these distributed energy resources (DER) and others continue to expand, policymakers, regulators, and utilities are increasingly considering how planning, governance, and institutional coordination can adapt to support their effective integration. To help advance this conversation, the Clean, Affordable and Secure Energy for Southeast Asia (CASE) project will convene a policy dialogue to present key findings from its forthcoming policy brief, drawing on recent stakeholder consultations and analysis of Thailand’s emerging DER challenges and opportunities to help inform policy action. The event will bring together Thai energy sector institutions and international experts to explore practical approaches for strengthening DER planning, governance, and coordination. Participants will hear perspectives from Germany, Australia, and Pakistan, join a moderated panel discussion on lessons relevant to Thailand, and engage in a facilitated exchange aimed at surfacing upcoming priorities for Thai stakeholders. Designed as a solutions‑focused dialogue, the session aims to support shared understanding and informed discussion on how Thailand can advance effective DER integration in its evolving power system.

Flex and trade: Stories from Asia

This full-day interactive event unites policymakers, industry leaders, financiers, civil society, and innovators to explore how flexible power systems, industrial decarbonisation, and regional competitiveness can work in tandem to accelerate Southeast Asia's just energy transition. The morning session will focus on power system flexibility and the role of battery energy storage. We will employ the Flex Trade, an interactive, game-based session where participants step into the shoes of generators, consumers, and storage operators in a dynamic power market simulation designed to balance supply and demand. Through this hands-on experience, attendees will gain first-hand insights into how flexibility enhances grid reliability, reduces costs, and accelerates renewable energy integration. Following the simulation, the session will transition into a facilitated discussion exploring the critical gaps between policy ambitions and real-world implementation in scaling up battery storage. The afternoon session will shift toward the nexus of industrial decarbonisation and regional competitiveness for Southeast Asia. The session will begin with a short plenary framing on CBAM, evolving trade measures, and industrial decarbonisation pathways in Southeast Asia, with a spotlight on steel supply chains and hydrogen development. Participants will then engage in Industry Trade Saga, rotating concept stations that encourage participants to exchange perspectives and co-develop strategic responses. The day will conclude with a synthesis discussion highlighting key takeaways, emerging opportunities for regional cooperation, and recommendations for aligning power sector transformation with low-carbon industrial development. By bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, financiers, civil society, and innovators, these two sessions aim to share stories from across Asia, foster peer learning, and identify actionable solutions. Together, they will strengthen cross-sector understanding of how flexible power systems, industrial competitiveness, and climate policy can reinforce one another to support a just, resilient, and economically competitive transition in Southeast Asia.

From risk to resilience: Urban Flood Prevention for Climate Action

Flooding is Thailand's most severe natural hazard. The country carries a near-maximum flood risk index of 9.8 out of 10, and Bangkok, home to more than 10 million people and around 48.7% of national GDP, ranks among the ten coastal cities worldwide most exposed to flood risk. Thailand's secondary cities are equally exposed with less capacity to respond, as the 2025 Hat Yai floods showed. Projections point to 2030–2034 as a particularly high-risk period. Mexico faces a strikingly similar challenge, and brings valuable experience in integrated flood risk management, national hydrological forecasting, urban resilience planning, disaster risk reduction and post-disaster recovery. This joint event by UN-Habitat and the Embassy of Mexico in Thailand convenes national and city authorities from both countries for a structured South-South exchange. A moderated panel will draw lessons from Hat Yai, Bangkok and Mexico City, examine national flood prevention policy and response, and explore nature-based solutions and green infrastructure for climate-resilient cities.

The Plant-Rich Leaders: Awards & Showcase 2026 is a landmark event organized by the Office of National Higher Education Science Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO) to recognize pioneer organizations advancing Thailand's protein transition. The event honors members of the Plant 30% Leader Club—including restaurants, food manufacturers, retailers, and institutional buyers—who have achieved the target of integrating at least 30% plant-rich offerings into their menus, product portfolios, or procurement within one year. Alongside the recognition ceremony, the showcase serves as a high-visibility platform highlighting sustainable food innovations, business-matching opportunities, and high-protein local ingredients like watermeal (Wolffia), legumes, and mushrooms. By bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, and researchers, the event celebrates measurable supply-chain transformations that drive health, environmental sustainability, and economic growth toward Thailand's THB 500 billion future food goal.
