About this event

Distributed solar accounts for two-thirds of global solar PV employment and creates close to three times more jobs per megawatt than utility-scale. Across South and Southeast Asia, that work is carried by a large and widely dispersed workforce of technicians and small installers, busy across thousands of sites and moving between employers and projects. They have a direct stake in how these markets develop, and almost no presence in the labour market data or the processes where deployment targets, training systems and policy get set. That gap shapes which targets are realistic, where capital lands, and who the transition ends up serving. Join Mee Panyar and Green Empowerment for a session that puts practitioner experience alongside the questions funders, policymakers and researchers are already asking about workforce: how these markets are developing, who carries the risk as they grow, and what a just and equitable transition demands of the sector. Held in person in Bangkok, with online participation for voices from across the region. Register here: https://forms.gle/K4mJkkK24UyFD8HeA
