What The Plans Miss: Women and Asia's Climate & Energy Justice Plans

Women are living the Just Energy Transition amid its conflicts. Why aren't they leading it?" Across Asia and the Pacific, 385 national energy policies were reviewed. Only 16 were centered on gender. In the meantime, most of the energy ministries in the region are still led by men. Asia's energy systems are evolving rapidly and the existing inequalities are determining who carries the costs of that change and who receives its benefits. Women are living through those resource distributions and working to shift this reality. This work is rarely present where the plans are written and the conversations that produce the plans remain largely technical. Join Sath-CSIDC at Bangkok Climate Action Week as we address this gap by moving women's knowledge and leadership from the margins to the centre of climate and energy discourse and build intentional relationships between practitioners working on these questions across the region to foster collaboration that continues past the session. Hear from an all women-panel with a diverse expertise in research, advocacy, community training, climate finance and movement organising and then join breakout groups to build the relationships and ideas that outlast the session.
