Live Cooking Show - Sambal from the Forest

Sambal from the Forest is a live cooking show featuring three sambals from three Indonesian forest landscapes. Through live preparation and informal conversations between the chef and the Puan Rimba women, visitors will learn where the ingredients come from and hear the stories of the women who prepare them. The program shows how women’s knowledge of food and forest resources supports household food security, community enterprises, sustainable livelihoods, and biodiversity protection. Using sambal as a familiar starting point, the program makes forest and climate issues easier to understand while highlighting food as part of culture and identity.
