Powering Climate Action: Learning Energy Transitions Through Board Games

About this event

What does climate action look like from the other side of the table? Step into the shoes of city leaders and global powers, make tough calls, negotiate with people who don’t see things the same way, and find out what happens when every decision comes with a catch. 🎲 PowerJungle puts you in charge of a city navigating the energy transition. People in your city want affordable electricity with no blackouts. Can you make it happen, and at what cost? 🌎 Daybreak puts you in the shoes of global powers, from Europe and the US to China and the Majority World, facing a world that is getting hotter. Each side comes with different economic pressures, emissions, resources and responsibilities. You’ll have to decide what matters most to your side, work with others when interests align, and navigate the tension between domestic priorities and collective climate action. There are no right answers. Just different priorities, competing interests and a lot of decisions to make. Climate solutions come with nuances, and this is your chance to explore them for yourself. Through the games and group discussions, you’ll unpack the choices behind climate and energy transitions, exchange perspectives with like-minded peers, and discover how differently the same challenge can look from another seat at the table. Come play, debate and see climate and energy transitions from a completely different perspective.
