"Portraits of a Hotter Planet" is an interactive exhibit, brought to you by the Global Heat Forum and Bangkok Climate Action Week. Throughout the exhibit, we are collecting testimonials on how heat is impacting individuals and communities around the world, and the ways people are responding to it. Visit the exhibit, share your story with the Global Heat Forum’s social wall and help shape our work on extreme heat. The exhibit: Extreme heat is one of the fastest growing threats to health, livelihoods and the environment. It reaches cities and villages alike, but not everyone faces it equally: children, older people, outdoor workers, pregnant women and people without access to cooling are among those facing the greatest risk. As temperatures climb, further amplified by a strong El Niño event, these images illustrate both challenges and solutions to extreme heat, faced by ordinary people across the world. The Extreme Heat Photo Contest In 2025, the Global Heat Health Information Network (GHHIN) and Internews' Earth Journalism Network - today ‘Informed Earth’ - launched the first Extreme Heat Photo Contest, inviting photographers around the world to document how heat is changing daily life and how communities are responding to it. More than 350 photographers submitted original images capturing the human, environmental and economic toll of extreme heat, alongside the resourcefulness and resilience shaping how people adapt. This exhibit brings a selection of the contest's winners and finalists’ photographs to Lumphini Park for the duration of Bangkok Climate Action Week. The Global Heat Forum This exhibit is brought to you by the Global Heat Forum and its partners. Held from 6 to 9 October 2026, the Forum and its partners brings together leaders and practitioners working across public health, climate, government, research, civil society, media, policy and finance to accelerate action on extreme heat and its impacts on health, the environment, livelihoods and sectors across borders. The photo is also linked to an Evening of Short Films on 7 October at 7pm.
