An Affiliated Programme of the IMF and World Bank Group Annual Meetings 2026, held as part of Bangkok Climate Action Week 2026. Hosted by Asia Research and Engagement (ARE) and Climate Finance Network Thailand (CFNT). Two thirds of Thailand's tracked climate finance is now private capital. Who carries the risk it creates? The 2026 Thailand Climate Finance Tracker records THB 2 trillion in cumulative mitigation finance, with private capital now around 67 percent of the total. The transition this capital finances has consequences for workers and communities as well as for industries. This session asks which safeguards actually reach workers and communities, where voluntary commitments end, and what belongs in regulation, across both mitigation and adaptation finance.
