Anchored on its Climate Action Plan 2030, BMA, in partnership with C40, has been making strides with renewable energy adoption to meet its GHG reduction target of 19% by 2030. This includes strong commitment through programmes such as Solar Cell City as well data-driven decision making tools like the Rooftop Solar (RTS) Dashboard. These efforts democratise information on progress and encourage the public and private sector to transition towards clean energy. At the same time, while Bangkok has made progress in reducing annual PM2.5 in recent decades, levels remain above the national standard and World Health Organization guideline. Through Breathe Cities support in Bangkok, the city is strengthening its evidence base, capacity and readiness to implement targeted interventions under the Pollution Control Zone framework.
