Talent, Purpose, and the Asia Decade: Investing in Asia's Climate Talent

Every practitioner in this field has had the same moment: a project ready to go, except nobody on the team has the technical experience in storage systems, climate risk modelling, or offtake negotiation to take it forward. It's not a one-off — global demand for green talent is growing roughly twice as fast as supply, and by 2030 as many as one in five climate roles could go unfilled. With Asia's energy systems already strained by a global crisis and a looming super El Niño, closing this gap requires the urgency this decade actually demands. Bringing together funders, climate organisations, and talent partners, the session will explore where talent needs are sharpest, especially among CSOs, how funders can plug into closing them, and what it's really like to move into a climate career, or upskill within one – drawing on the perspectives of people who've made that transition. The evening closes with networking over food and drinks. This event is by invitation only.
