About this event
Blue Economy and Marine Capacity Building Day brought together young people aged 15–30 to explore the connections between the blue economy, marine ecosystems, and climate change. Designed for participants with no prior knowledge, the programme combined guided discussions, interactive activities, and board games, facilitated by specialists in learning process design. The programme introduced the blue economy and its relationship with marine sustainability. Through the Seagrass Conservation Board Game, participants explored seagrass ecosystems and their conservation. The Climate Fresk workshop provided a collaborative learning experience to examine the causes and consequences of climate change and understand how they are connected. Alongside environmental learning, the Discover the People activity created opportunities for participants to get to know one another, exchange perspectives, and build connections. With places limited to 20 participants, the programme was designed to support close interaction and shared learning, helping young people develop a stronger understanding of marine sustainability and climate issues.
