Heat Ready Youth: From Global Boiling to Heat Resilience From Feeling Heat to Taking Action Heat Ready Youth is an interactive learning experience by Heat Ready Thailand that invites children, young people, and the public to explore extreme heat, an increasingly critical urban risk under climate change. Combining Experiential Learning, Climate Education, and Citizen Science, the program transforms invisible heat into something participants can feel, see, measure, understand, and act upon. At the heart of the experience is “Hot House 2100: Experience the Future Heat,” an immersive simulation of a hotter future. Participants explore how extreme heat affects the human body, health, and everyday life, while learning about Thermal Inequality, which highlights how heat exposure, vulnerability, and the capacity to cope with heat can differ across people, places, and communities. Participants become Heat Detectives, using scientific tools to measure Heat Index and Wet-Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) and thermal cameras to reveal invisible heat patterns across materials, buildings, and urban spaces. Jamuan Puan Rimba is a curated long table luncheon showcasing cuisine inspired by Indonesia’s forest landscapes. The luncheon will feature food and ingredients from South Sumatra, North Kalimantan, and West Nusa Tenggara. The courses will retain some original Indonesian dishes and preparations. In other courses, Chef Bo Songvisava of Bo.lan will combine Indonesian forest ingredients with local Thai ingredients and culinary techniques to create new Thai Indonesian dishes. This dining experience uses food as an entry point for understanding forests, community knowledge, local economies, and climate action. Through storytelling and shared dining, participants will experience how women’s leadership is connected to food systems, non-timber forest products, sustainable livelihoods, and forest governance. This approach has also offered communities a new economic model through eco-gastronomy tourism. By connecting forest stewardship, local food, and storytelling, communities can create visitor experiences that generate local income, strengthen women’s enterprises, and encourage the continued protection of forests and local knowledge in their respective villages. While each story unfolds in a different context, they are united by the belief that meaningful transformation begins with people. Bringing together stories from the Philippines and China, the exhibition shows how communities, workers, local leaders, and young people are navigating change and shaping new possibilities in the climate economy. In Barangay Bicos, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, local leadership and community action demonstrate how communities can take steps toward more affordable and accessible renewable energy, while also confronting the financial and institutional challenges that come with making the transition. In Shanxi, communities are navigating the complex transition beyond coal, revealing both the challenges and opportunities of building new livelihoods and a more sustainable future. Through the Future Renewable Energy Engineer (FREE) Program, young Filipinos are preparing to become the next generation of renewable energy leaders, showing that investing in people is essential to sustaining the transition for decades to come. Through photographs, short films, personal stories, and interactive experiences, the exhibition brings these journeys to life. The photo storytelling installations offer glimpses into communities and people experiencing transition firsthand, while short film screenings allow visitors to hear directly from those at the heart of these stories. Together, the stories reveal that the energy transition is a process shaped by people's choices, aspirations, resilience, and ability to adapt. These are ultimately stories of hope and transformation. "Portraits of a Hotter Planet" is an interactive exhibit, brought to you by the Global Heat Forum and Bangkok Climate Action Week. Throughout the exhibit, we are collecting testimonials on how heat is impacting individuals and communities around the world, and the ways people are responding to it. Changing Climate, Changing Lives (CCCL) Film Festival, under Tonkla Rak Lok Foundation, together with HERA, Hai-Jai, mlkywy.hub, Snappy Duck, and noble PLAY, presents “CCCL Film Festival at BKKCAW 2026,” a two-day program exploring the relationships between living beings, biodiversity, and the environments we share. taking place on 3–4 October 2026 at noble PLAY (Ploenchit BTS Station), the program consists of a curated selection of short films, photography and art exhibitions, and a conversation for filmmakers and environmental and social storytellers as part of Bangkok Climate Action Week 2026. The film program brings together a selection of outstanding Thai and international short films previously screened at CCCL Film Festival. From threatened wetlands to communities working together to protect their local ecosystems, the films invite audiences to consider the connections between living beings, biodiversity, and the changing climate, and how changes within one part of an ecosystem can affect everything around it. The program will also feature a screening of YANUNI on 4 October at 3:00 PM, directed by Richard Ladkani and co-produced by Leonardo DiCaprio. The documentary follows an Indigenous woman leader as she fights to protect her ancestral lands in the Amazon rainforest. We're excited to announce our long-awaited Deep Time Walk in Bangkok Climate Action Week 2026! A transformative journey to experience the deep longing in our bodies. . This time, we are joined by Di Kilsby, a fellow Deep Time Walk facilitator from Australia/Cambodia. Di will invite us to reflect on Deep Time through Indigenous Australian and feminist perspectives, brought to life through art and storytelling. As a result, this session will be conducted primarily in English. We’d love to invite you all to come walk with us! 🙂 . We warmly invite friends to come and learn, reflect, and reconnect with the Earth through the vast and deep dimension of time. . Join us on a 4.6-kilometer walk that embodies the 4.6 billion-year history of the Earth, where each meter walked represents one million years of our planetary body history. We allow ourselves to follow the invitation to see the world anew through a perspective of deep interconnection with all life. . Through experiential activities and a conceptual design showcase, visitors are invited to consider how extreme heat can deepen existing inequalities and how public spaces can better respond to diverse users. Zone 1 – Experience Unequal Impacts Visitors take part in guided and hands-on activities exploring mobility, sensory and communication barriers experienced by people with disabilities, and how extreme heat can intensify these everyday challenges. Zone 2 – Cooling Shelter Model Visitors explore a conceptual Cooling Shelter through a physical scale model and supporting visuals, demonstrating how accessible design and passive cooling strategies can be integrated into public spaces to provide relief from urban heat.
